26. 09. 2013 - Personnel changes in Czech aeroholding group
September 26th, 2013
At its meeting today, the Czech Airlines Supervisory Board was informed about Jiří Marek´s decision received to leave his post as Czech Airlines Vice-president for Sales and Marketing and resign from the position of Member of the Board of Directors. In October, the position of Czech Airlines Vice-president for Sales and Marketing and Member of the Czech Airlines Board of Directors will be performed by Jozef Sinčák who will by then have resigned from his current position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director for Business and Corporate Services of Prague Airport. Mr. Sinčák will be replaced at Prague Airport in both capacities by Marta Guthová who will, prior to her appointment to the company management, resign from her positions of Member of the Board of Directors and Director for Purchases, Sales and Marketing of Czech Aeroholding, the mother company of Prague Airport. The vacated position on the Czech Aeroholding Board of Directors will then be assumed by Jozef Sinčák. All mentioned personnel changes within the Czech Aeroholding Group are subject to the approval of the Statutory Bodies of all companies involved during the month of October. The Statutory Bodies will elect new members of their Boards of Directors at that time (at both daughter companies, members of the Boards of Directors are elected at the company General Meeting, at Czech Aeroholding, members of the Board of Directors are elected by the Supervisory Board). A General Meeting of Czech Airlines will be called towards the end of October to accept Mr. Marek’s resignation from his post as Member of the Board of Directors and appoint Mr. Sinčák to the vacated position.
Upon his appointment with Czech Airlines in September 2011, Jiří Marek was in charge of CSA’s Business Division and, shortly thereafter, was elected Member of the Board of Directors. In October 2011, the company’s marketing division was added to his list of job responsibilities. He had previously expressed his intention to leave CSA, but was asked by the company management to stay in his capacity until a suitable replacement was found. As J. Marek stated, in his opinion the company restructuring process and its change of corporate and route network, his two main jobs within CSA, had been finished and therefore, after three very demanding years, he feels the time is right to move on in his professional life. Jiří Marek will hand over his agenda to J. Sinčák until the end of October to ensure CSA’s continued corporate strategy and further route development.
Jozef Sinčák is joining Czech Airlines having left Prague Airport where he has worked in top management positions since his appointment with the company in 2009. For the last two years, he has been in charge of the Business and Corporate Services Division. Alongside company finance, he was also in charge of both aviation and non-aviation business at Prague Airport, including marketing and product management, and is thus best equipped to lead and develop a very similar area within CSA.
Marta Guthová is returning, after two years of active service in Czech Aeroholding’s TOP Management, to Prague Airport where she worked between the years 2006 and 2011 in various management positions. Prior her departure to Czech Aeroholding, she worked as the Senior Executive Director for Non-aviation Business, Operations and Purchases and was also a Member of the Board of Directors. Owing to her years of experience in the industry, she will now lead both the Non-aviation and Aviation Business of Prague Airport and become the Board of Directors’ Vice Chairman.
