Ing. Roman Planička (39)
Roman Planička is a graduate of the Zlín Technological Faculty of the University of Technology in Brno, in the field of Material Engineering, specialising in composite materials.
He is an experienced manager in the field of aviation, having worked at LET Kunovice for many years, where, with a short break, he has worked since graduation in 1993. He held various positions in the business division at LET Kunovice and was a member of the Supervisory Board. He left the company in 2001 to work as Business Manager at Ferromoravia for a short while and subsequently began business in the Aerospace and Defence Industry, mainly in Saudi Arabia. In 2003, he took advantage of an offer from PAMCO INT. and returned to the Czech Republic to handle foreign trade in the PAMCO INT. Aviation Division with a view to the planned purchase of LET Kunovice. As Executive Director and Member of the Board of the newly-formed company, Aircraft Industries, his main tasks were to prepare the entire transaction, compile a business plan, including a financial and production plan, realise the takeover, establish crisis management, manage the company, renew production and restructure the company with the aim of its revitalisation.
Roman Planička is also a member of ASD (AeroSpace and Defence Industry of Europe), the Life Cycle Support & Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Sectoral Group, and a joint delegate of the Association of Aviation Manufacturers of the Czech Republic and the Defence Industry Association of the Czech Republic. He is also a member of the Board of the Aviation and Cosmic Research Centre of the Czech Republic.
Roman Planička speaks English and Russian. He is married and has two children.
