24. 11. 2011 - HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines’ Fleet to Expand

Prague, 24th November 2011

The fleet and activities of HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines will expand significantly in the spring of 2012. The airline will newly lease seven ATR aircraft, whose lease by Czech Airlines is coming to an end. The division of the aircraft fleet between the Český aeroholding carriers is in line with the principle of a model in which each company from the Group focuses on its main line of business.  HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines is considering further fleet expansion with additional aircraft in the future.
HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines provides charter carriage and aircraft leasing to third parties, including the so-called ACMI lease, which is an aircraft lease including the crew. The specific nature of the operation of ATR aircraft fits into that model.  Furthermore, the new possibilities for a more flexible use of the available capacity will make their operation more efficient. The logical distribution of activities between the Group’s two airlines will also enable the long-term retention of jobs and stabilisation of the Český aeroholding fleet size. Czech Airlines continues to be a traditional operator of scheduled carriage, using jet aircraft. In operating short-haul destinations, it will cooperate with HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines.

Further information about the project, including any flight schedule adaptations, will be available in the first weeks of 2012.
