24. 10. 2008 - Czech Airlines Passengers Can Check in Directly from Their Hotels

Czech Airlines passengers can newly check in directly in selected Prague hotels. The service has been available since mid-October in the accommodation facilities at Prague Airport - Ramada, Tranzit, and Courtyard by Marriott. At hotel receptions, computers are available for passengers that enable them to check in via the Internet in the comfort of the hotel, without waiting at an airport desk.
With this new service, passengers can choose their seat on the aircraft from the comfort of the hotel, and print their boarding pass. After arriving at the airport, they need not go to the check in desk, but can proceed directly to a passport and security check. This allows them to arrive at the airport with a shorter wait time before their flight. Passengers can check in no earlier than 24 hours, and no later than 35 minutes, before the planned flight. Passengers travelling with baggage can also take advantage of the service – after arriving at the airport, they drop their baggage off at a special desk designated as “Baggage drop-off” and proceed directly to passport and security checks.
In the initial stage, Czech Airlines, in cooperation with selected hotels, offers the option of checking in at hotel reception desks. In addition, in preparation is the option of checking in over the Internet directly in a hotel room, via the passenger’s own computer, with the boarding pass to be printed up by the hotel reception desk and given to the passenger upon his departure from the hotel. Czech Airlines is considering expanding the service to the other hotels that passengers most frequently use in Prague.
Passengers who wish to avoid long waits in line ups at airports can newly take advantage of checking in comfortably with a computer installed for this purpose in the new Czech Airlines Economy Lounge in the Budweiser Budvar Restaurant and the Caffé L’attesa coffee shop at Prague Airport, between Terminals 1 and 2. For OK Plus members, complimentary beverages are available there. In addition to a comfortable check in, a free WiFi Internet connection is available, and with information panels, passengers have a precise overview of the planned aircraft departures. The daily press is also available at no charge. The lounge is available to passengers from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Checking in with a computer from a hotel or lounge is made possible by the Internet Check-in service. Czech Airlines introduced this modern service on the first three destinations last June, and throughout most of its network last September. Since its introduction, the service has been used by nearly 100,000 passengers, which is comparable to other airlines. Presently, Internet Check in can be used by passengers travelling from Prague and another 30 destinations to which Czech Airlines or its code-share partners fly. The number of destinations featuring the Internet Check-in option keeps expanding.
