22. 08. 2007 - CSA is the Carrier with the Best On-time Record in Europe
Prague, 22 August 2007
In the first half of the year, Czech Airlines (CSA) was the carrier with the best on-time record in Europe. The Airline ranked first in departure punctuality, among the 26 most significant airlines associated in the Association of European Airlines (AEA).
Whereas in 2003 CSA was at around the 20th position on the AEA flight punctuality ranking, in 2004 and 2005 it ranked sixth. Last year, CSA ended up in 2nd place. In the first half of this year, CSA was the leader of the European skies, in terms of operational punctuality.
Overall, CSA operated nearly 36,350 flights in the first half of the year, on scheduled routes from Prague and foreign destinations. In its summer schedule, CSA offers connections to 104 destinations in 44 countries.
The Airline itself, however, can influence only a portion of the delays, for example, by accelerating the preparation of the aircraft for the next flight, in the event of a delay of the previous flight. The most frequent causes of delays are crowded airspace or limited capacity in carrying out the security checks of passengers at airports. Frequent causes of delays also include bad weather. Technical difficulties with CSA’s aircraft only account for a negligible number of delays.
