20. 02. 2009 - Czech Airlines’ Business Passengers’ Favourite Services are Internet Check-in and Complimentary Rides to the Airport

A complimentary ride to the airport and checking in over the Internet are the two Czech Airlines´ services that business clients most wished for in the past. Their introduction for the business clientele is one of the main reasons why they choose Czech Airlines for their travels. A complimentary taxi ride to the airport has been used at least once by 40 percent of businessmen, and another 20 percent consider the service to be attractive. 60 percent of Business Class clients are committed users of the Internet Check-in.
A Survey Revealed Passenger Needs
For Czech Airlines, the business clientele is a key target group. An extensive survey that Czech Airlines carried out among its passengers in May 2007 showed in what services business clients are interested. The vast majority mentioned, above all, the possibility of Internet check-in, the introduction of free carriage to the airport, and the delivery of a text message with information about the flight.
The innovations introduced in the last two years have primarily met the demands of this type of client. Business clients have found that the significant modifications in the Czech Airlines flight schedule suit them well, as departure and arrival times have been adapted to facilitate short-term business trips. “With the changes in our flight schedule, business passengers can make more use of morning departures, returning on the same day. They do not have to spend more than the absolutely necessary amount of time in the given country,” explained Vice-President for Marketing and Product Development Petr Pištělák. Also advantageous is the flexibility of the tickets offered by Czech Airlines.
On the basis of suggestions from the May 2007 survey, and aiming to improve services for business passengers, Czech Airlines has introduced several more new services. Since June 2007, business passengers have been able to check in over the Internet, in the comfort of their home or office, and this service is becoming more popular all the time. Since October 2008, passengers have been able to check in from selected hotels on the Prague Airport grounds. Passengers have also shown great interest in Czech Airlines’ newest service – the option of a free taxi ride to Ruzyně Airport from any place in Prague, upon the presentation of a Business Premium ticket. 40 percent of clients have used the service at some point, and another 20 percent are getting to know it better and consider it to be very attractive.
By extending and improving its offering, Czech Airlines is responding to the demands of the discerning business clientele, which appreciates a high level of service. “The long-term focus on the business clientele has proven to be the right step, which is why we plan to continue to focus narrowly on this target group in the future,” added Petr Pištělák.
Services for the Business Clientele Keep Expanding
Travelling with Czech Airlines means many advantages for business passengers. Before departure, they can comfortably check in via the Internet or by telephone, or take advantage of the priority check-in desk at the airport. They can get to Prague Airport free of charge. Business passengers are also afforded rapid passage through Prague Ruzyně Airport (the so-called Fast-track) and can spend the time before departure in Czech Airlines airport lounges. They also enjoy such standard amenities as priority boarding and the selection of their seat on the aircraft, as well as being able to bring a greater number of bags on board. Also, the baggage allowance weight limit is higher for business passengers than for others. An innovation during flight is the improved offering of meals. Refreshments on board are better adapted to the time of day and nature of the flight: Czech Airlines prepares a special menu for morning, afternoon, and newly also for evening flights. The greater spacing between Business Class seats guarantees passengers greater comfort and privacy for taking care of their work matters during the flight. And of course the OK Plus Frequent Flyer Programme offers businessmen a number of benefits; its Platinum Card is a 2008 innovation.
