Czech Airlines Once Again Wins the Best Airline Based in Central / Eastern Europe Award
Prague/London, April 18, 2007
Czech Airlines (CSA) has once again won the title of "Best Airline based in Central/ Eastern Europe". This is the fourth time that CSA has won this prestigious award, which is given out annually by the Official Airline Guide (OAG) – a London-based international air transport organization. The awards are voted on by business travellers and industry professionals.
The awards were presented to those representing the airlines and airports at last night's award ceremony at the Landmark Hotel in London. This year's 25th annual awards ceremony was attended by HRH The Princess Royal and other well-known guests, a number of whom came from outside the travel and airline industry. Vendula Raymová, CSA's Regional Manager for Great Britain, Ireland and Belgium accepted the award on behalf of the airline.
CSA's President and Chairman of the Board, Radomír Lašák, commented on the award saying, "We greatly value this prestigious award and the fact that CSA has won this award for the fourth year in a row is a testament to our airline's strong position in the Central and Eastern European markets". Just as last year, CSA was one of the small group of contenders nominated for the “OAG Airline of the Year 2007” award. Other nominated carriers included British Airways, Continental Airlines, Aeromexico, Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Quantas.
The OAG awards are an acknowledgement by industry professionals of their satisfaction with the services and products offered by the airline – including such things as inflight services, flight schedules, number of destinations served within the region, etc. This year, a total of 42 different airlines were nominated for awards in 15 different regional and global categories.
