Luxembourg is the capital of Luxembourg – a country of banking, the insurance business, international institutions, and tourism. The historical city, with a number of historical sights, extends along an outcrop of rock above the River Alzette. The most famous sight is the 17th century Notre Dame Cathedral, in which rest the remains of John of Luxembourg, King of Bohemia.
