13. 6. 2007 - Czech Airlines Signs New Contract with Exim Tours Travel Agency

Prague, June 13, 2007

Czech Airlines (CSA) has signed a new contract with Exim Tours, the largest Czech travel agency, extending their existing contract for another three years. Under the agreement, CSA will continue to provide air travel services to Exim Tours' clients heading to such popular destinations as Varadero in Cuba, La Isla Margarita in Venezuela, La Romana in the Dominican Republic as well as to destinations in Egypt, Tunisia, Greece and other popular locations around the Mediterranean.

CSA has been the primary carrier for the Exim Tours agency for the past three years. Exim Tours uses a number of different aircraft from CSA's fleet – ranging from the mid-range Boeing 737 and Airbus A321 through the longer distance Airbus A310.

"We place a high value on our partnership with the Exim Tours agency. Our key priority is to make sure that their customers have a pleasant travel experience on board our aircraft and that they are satisfied with our services," Petr Řehák, CSA's Vice President for Sales, commented on the signing of the new contract. During this year's Sirius awards, given out to business partners of CSA, Exim Tours was voted the key partner of CSA in the charter area.

"The selection of our business partners – including Czech Airlines as our primary air carrier  – has played an important role in the growth of the Exim Tours travel agency. The fact that we have become the largest provider of vacations by air [in the Czech Republic] is testament to the fact that we have made good choices in our selections of business partners," said the CEO of Exim Tours, Ferid Nasr.

Czech Airlines currently has relationships with more than thirty different travel agencies in countries that include not just the Czech Republic, but also Spain, Italy, Greece, France and Turkey. Besides working with travel agencies, CSA's clients also include various domestic and foreign sports teams and corporations. CSA's charter business provides service from the Prague airport and also from the airports in Brno, Ostrava and Pardubice. Outside of the Czech Republic, CSA has operated charter flights from cities such as Dublin, Barcelona and Rome.

During the first five months of 2007, CSA's charter division carried 222,000 passengers – representing an increase of nine percent over the year before. On a year-to-year basis, the company's earnings from the charter division, between January and May, showed an increase of 31%. In 2006, the airline's charter flights carried a total of 796,000 passengers, which represented an annual increase of more than 13%.
