07. 12. 2009 - ČSA Support to Supply Czech Airlines Aircraft Handling Services
Prague, 8 December 2009
Effective January 2010, Czech Airlines is to merge all its handling activities into an independent company by transferring its handling to their daughter Company ČSA Support.
”There will be many advantages to this move including the transparency of both cost and revenue as well as the improvement in efficiency within this area. I believe this step will also be welcomed by our business partners who will see the functioning of our company overall as being more transparent,“ commented Czech Airlines CEO, Miroslav Dvořák, adding: ”I would like to point out that ČSA Support will remain the daughter Company of Czech Airlines. “
ČSA Support will be managed by the Vice-President for Operational Services, Mr Peter Jusko. The financial management will be strictly separated from Czech Airlines accounting. The value of the handling prior to separation will be evaluated by a financial expert, and the basic stock of the daughter company will be increased by this value. This change will affect approximately 800 current Czech Airlines employees who will be transferred to ČSA Support as from January 01, 2010.
„ČSA Support will provide a full service, which can continue relying on the experience and background of Czech Airlines, a 100% mother company. We will place emphasis on the increase in profit of the particular operational activities,“ commented the Vice-President for Operational Services Peter Jusko.
The project is based on measures included in the restructuring plan which aims to stabilize Czech Airlines and this step will contribute substantially in assisting to restore the company to health and overcome the low revenue season.
Among the most important clients of Czech Airlines handling are our partners from the SkyTeam Alliance operating from/to Prague, such as Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines, Aeroflot, Korean Air and other carriers including CAI, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, SAS – Scandinavian Airline System, Malev, Finnair, Aerosvit, China Airlines-Cargo or Luxair.
