06. 06. 2008 - Czech Airlines Rated Best Airline Based in Central/Eastern Europe
Prague/London, June 6, 2008
Czech Airlines has once again been rated as the "Best Airline Based in Central/Eastern Europe". This is the fifth time that Czech Airlines has received this prestigious award, which is given out annually by the London-based international organization, the Official Airline Guide (OAG), based on votes submitted by the members of the worldwide community of business travelers.
"We are very proud of this prestigious award, which is based on the opinions of members of a worldwide community of travelers. The fact that Czech Airlines has been able to earn this ranking at the same time that the company is going through a restructuring process indicates that the measures that are being put in place to help the company overcome its past financial losses have had neither a negative impact on the way in which our customers perceive of us as an airline nor on the actual quality of the services that we are offering," said Czech Airlines' President, Radomír Lašák, in commenting on the award.
The awards were presented to the representatives of the winning airlines and airports as part of an evening gala held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London. This year's 26th OAG award ceremony featured a number of well-known guests, which included representatives of the travel and airline industries as well as others. Dušan Ryban, Czech Airlines' Vice President for Human Resources attended the event to accept the award on behalf of the company.
The award expresses the satisfaction of the travel community with the services and products provided by the airline, including its on-board services, flight schedules and the number of destinations served within the given regions. This year, voters made their selections from among 43 major air carriers, which were nominated in 16 different categories.
