03. 02. 2009 - The Number of Members in Czech Airlines’ Frequent Flyer Programme is up by 28 Percent Year-on-Year

Prague, 3 February 2009

370,000 members are already enjoying the advantages of Czech Airlines’ OK Plus frequent flyer programme.  In the last year, their number has grown by 28 percent.  Hence, OK Plus is one of the most significant loyalty programmes in the Czech Republic.  The increased number of holders of the prestigious OK Plus Silver, Gold, and Platinum Cards, for the most active members, confirms passenger interest in the above-standard services offered to them by the programme.  Furthermore, Czech Airlines keeps expanding the options offered by the programme.

Presently, OK Plus members can collect points (referred to as miles) not only for flights with Czech Airlines and the partner airlines associated in the SkyTeam airline alliance, but also in 33 partner hotel chains with several thousand hotels worldwide, four worldwide car hire agencies, and a number of other non-airline partners.  For the miles collected, they can obtain reward tickets and many other rewards connected with travel, such as an upgrade to a higher class of travel on flights with Czech Airlines and SkyTeam partners, access to Czech Airlines’ airport lounges, free of charge excess baggage, car hire, a package from the offer of the HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines travel agency, a lesson on a flight simulator, or a flight in a Czech Airlines hot-air balloon.  Beginning this spring, OK Plus members will be newly able to use their miles for stays in all Hilton Family hotels all over the world.

For the relevant number of SkyTeam Miles or Segments flown in one year, OK Plus members can earn a Silver, Gold, or Platinum Card, which brings them a number of additional above-standard advantages, comforts in air travel, and an individualised approach, and not only when travelling on Czech Airlines flights, but throughout the entire SkyTeam Alliance.

Normally, a return reward ticket can be obtained for as little as 15,000 miles.  Until the end of March, however, programme members can obtain return reward tickets at a discount on flights operated by Czech Airlines.  With this special, they can fly for as few as 10,000 miles, and the miles normally needed for a reward ticket in Europe will take them all the way to the USA.

Mile Transfers from One Account to Another – New this year is the option to transfer the miles collected from one member’s account to another member’s account.  That way, programme members can make it easier for their friends and family to obtain a reward ticket or another programme reward.

Stays in Hilton Hotels Can Be Paid For in OK Plus Programme Miles – Starting in mid March, OK Plus members will be newly able to redeem their miles on stays in the Hilton Family network of 3,000 hotels worldwide.  It will be possible to convert miles from the Czech Airlines OK Plus Programme into points for the Hilton Family hotels’ loyalty programme, Hilton HHonors, at a 1:1 ratio.  Miles can be converted in multiples of 5,000, up to a total of 200,000 miles or the account balance.  In exchange for points in the programme, a passenger can book hotel accommodation in any hotel from the Hilton Family anywhere in the world.  The number of Hilton HHonors points required for a night’s stay in a double room ranges from 7,500 to 80,000, depending on the hotels.  Conversions are also possible in the opposite direction, i.e., from the Hilton HHonors programme into OK Plus Programme Miles.

Miles Also for Accommodation – Since January, OK Plus Programme members have been able to earn miles for their stays in the Wyndham Worldwide Family of Brands network, which offers 6,500 hotels in 59 countries on six continents, under the brands Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Ramada Worldwide, Baymont Inn & Suites, and others.  With the inclusion of Wyndham Worldwide Family of Brands among the OK Plus Programme partners, the offer of hotel chains where programme members can earn miles for using their services has expanded significantly.  Up to this point, members were able to collect miles for stays in 22 hotel chains all over the world.

In February, Choice Hotels International, associating 11 hotel chains, operating over 5,700 hotels in 36 countries around the world, will become a new OK Plus Programme partner.  The number of hotel chains where OK Plus members can earn miles will thus have doubled in a short period of time.  Newly, the first Hilton hotel in Slovakia – Doubletree by Hilton Košice – has been included in the programme, among the hotels in which OK Plus members can earn miles for their stays.  As an introductory bonus, OK Plus members can earn double miles for their stays.  An advantageous offer also applies in the newly opened Ostrava hotel, Ostrava Park Inn, and in the new hotel in the centre of Prague, Barceló Old Town Prague.

OK Plus Corporate
In addition to its OK Plus Programme, designed for individuals, Czech Airlines also offers a similar programme for its corporate customers – OK Plus Corporate.  This means that companies can collect points in their corporate accounts for the flights of their employees, and the employees, if they are OK Plus members, will get miles in their personal accounts.  Companies are currently using reward tickets primarily for saving on the costs of business travel.  Recently, two new markets – Ukraine and Kazakhstan – were added to the OK Plus Corporate Programme, which is currently being used by nearly 5,500 companies from 33 countries.
