19. 6. 2006 - ČSA Improves Passenger Comfort on Long-Haul Flights
Prague, 19 June 2006
The ČSA Board of Directors has decided to improve facilities for business clients on long-haul flights. The current three-seat configuration on Airbus A310 airplanes will be replaced by a modern, significantly more comfortable two-seat configuration in Business Class (B/C), which will also include sockets for charging notebooks. At the same time, the individual video system in B/C will also be renewed and improved. Passengers will thus be able to enjoy greater comfort and have more options for spending their free time on trips to the USA, Canada, Dubai, and other long-haul destinations.
“Focusing on the business clientele is one of the key points of our new strategy for 2006 to 2008,” explained Radomír Lašák, ČSA President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, adding: “Various international surveys, and Czech Airlines’ annual victory in prestigious competitions for the best airlines, show that we are currently number at the top level in service quality; nevertheless, we must continually improve conditions, including those for passengers on long-haul flights, to ensure that ČSA continues to be competitive compared to other operators on routes over the North Atlantic.”
A tender will be announced for the supply of new equipment for Airbus A310 airplanes. Given the delivery times for the type of seats being considered, which is approximately 8 months, ČSA expects the replacement of seats and audiovisual technology to be completed by June 2007.
