29. 9. 2005 - Czech Airlines carried 3.5 million passengers over the January-August period

Over the January-August 2005 period, Czech Airlines (CSA) carried 3.5 million passengers on its regular and charter flights.  When compared to the same period of the previous year, additional 22% passengers flew with the national carrier.

Over the January-August 2005 period, Czech Airlines flew 25 886 flights and transported 
13 854 tons of cargo and mail.

In August itself, Czech Airlines showed a significant growth in the number of transported passengers on all flights. This represents a growth of 28% when compared to August 2004. While almost 465 000 passengers used CSA services in August 2004, their number grew to 592 870 in August 2005. The seat load factor grew from 77% to 81%.

Charter flights
In August, when most CSA charter flights headed to destinations such as Spain, Turkey, Tunisia, Greece or Egypt, CSA carried 131 240 tourists, which represents a growth of 88% when compared to August 2004. 487 490 passengers travelled to holiday destinations with CSA from the beginning of this year, which is more than a twofold growth in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
