Prague, 25 April 2005

Over the January – March period, Czech Airlines transported 964 000 passengers on its flights. When compared to the same period of the previous year, additional 17% of passengers used the services of the airline.

In addition to the increased numbers of passengers, other transport indicators also showed a year-to-year growth. Over the first quarter of 2005, Czech Airlines operated 8425 flights and transported 5080 tons of cargo and mail.

On charter flights, the airline transported 66 500 passengers, which is a four times higher number if compared to the same period of the previous year. The growth especially reflects the high popularity of holiday destinations such as Fortaleza, Brazil; Varadero, Cuba; Isla Margarita, Venezuela; or Hurghada and Sharm El Sheik, Egypt.

London, Paris, Moscow, Amsterdam, Madrid, New York and Rome are among the most popular destinations.
