Prague/London, May 20, 2005

Czech Airlines has once again taken the Best Airline based in Central/Eastern Europe Award and also the Outstanding Service Award which are annually awarded by the Official Airline Guide (OAG), London, based on votes of travellers. This year, travellers could select from 32 major airlines.

Czech Airlines was also short listed in the OAG Airline of the year 2005 category, together with British Airways, Continental Airlines, Singapore Airlines or American Airlines.

The awards were presented by Eddie Bell, Chairman of OAG, at a ceremony at The Park Lane Hotel, London yesterday. The ceremony was hosted by Mr Eaman Holmes, a well-known British television personality.

While CSA had the traditional competitors - Aeroflot, Malev and LOT, in the Best Airline based in Central/Eastern Europe category, the Outstanding Service Award reflects the actual credits of Czech Airlines personnel.

CSA President, Mr Jaroslav Tvrdik was awarded the Outstanding Service Award for his initiative and management of free transport of children and their parents from Beslan to Karlovy Vary spa for rehabilitation. At the beginning of this year, the traumatised children were convalescing here after the attack on their school.

CSA won a similar OAG award two years ago. At that time, Hana Peskova, cabin crew manager, received the award for organising assistance to the people of Prague affected by the floods that hit the capital and its outskirts.
