4. 10. 2005 - Czech Airlines and FISCHER begin programme for strategic cooperation
Prague, 4 October 2005
Czech Airlines (CSA) and the FISHER travel agency, one of the most important travel agencies in the Czech Republic, have agreed on a three-year programme for strategic cooperation. Beginning in November 2005, Czech Airlines will carry the clients of FISCHER to tourist destinations such as the Canary Islands, Madeira and Egypt. Next year, FISCHER plans to put 150 000 clients on CSA flights and CSA will thus achieve a 50% share of the Czech charter market.
“CSA’s ambition is to become the leader on the local charter market,” said Jaroslav Tvrdík, CSA President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, on the occasion of the beginning of the cooperation programme, and he added: “Strategic cooperation with FISCHER is another important step toward fulfilling our overall strategic goals.”
"The agreement is the result of our existing successful cooperation with Czech Airlines. Thanks to partnership with CSA, we can offer our clients many benefits. They will have a wider selection of holiday countries and destinations in general. The number of flights from all Czech airports will grow and departure times will be more convenient. For example, in the following Summer Season, airplanes with our clients will depart up to 60 times a week. We will continue to offer our clients high comfort and top class, professional services in keeping with what is expected by clients flying in the 21st century," says Miloslav Vyhnal, Chairman of the Board of Directors, of FISCHER.
In addition to cooperation in the field of charter flights, FISCHER will also benefit from CSA price offers on European and overseas regular flights.
Czech Airlines will operate most of its charter flights for FISCHER with new generation Airbus A321’s with a capacity of 212 seats. The clients will experience the high standards and comfort of the new Airbus A321’s. In addition to the state-of-the-art interior design, there is also a modern in-flight audio/video system, reduced noise level, and larger seats and baggage compartments.
The Canary Islands – Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will reappear on the CSA charter destination-map after quite some time; Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean will be a brand new destination.
On flights to Egypt and the Canary Islands, CSA and FISHER will offer two possible travelling classes; Economy and Superior (including, for example, a separate check-in counter and access to the VIP lounge at Prague Airport, free excess baggage and selection of seats, a wider selection of in-flight refreshments).
Over the first eight months of 2005, Czech Airlines carried 490 000 clients from more than 30 Czech and foreign travel agencies. In addition to Prague, Brno and Ostrava, CSA charter flights to holiday destinations depart from many airports in the European Union, e.g., Budapest, Bologna and Bratislava.
From 2003, when the CSA share of the charter market in the Czech Republic represented 17%, the number of passengers has grown by almost 300%. This year, CSA plans to carry 640 000 passengers on charter flights.
