21. 6. 2005 - CSA’s number of passengers increases by 16% over January to May period

Czech Airlines recorded a 16% increase in the number of passengers carried during the first five months of this year compared with the same period in 2004. Almost 1.8 million passengers flew with CSA between January and May 2005.
The number of passengers carried on CSA aircraft grew during the first five months as well as in the month of May itself. The carrier transported 444 000 passengers on both scheduled and charter flights, which signifies more than a 20% year-on-year increase. Czech Airlines flew 3 400 flights and transported 1 760 tons of freight and mail in May alone.
From January to May, Czech Airlines operated 15 000 flights in total, which marks an increase in the number of connections by more than 26% year-on-year. The volume of carried freight and mail reached almost 8 000 tons.
CSA charter flights carried 138 000 passengers in the period January-May 2005, which is a threefold increase when compared with January-May in 2004. CSA operates the Airbus A321 with a maximum capacity of 215 passengers on its charter flights. This aircraft is used for travel to favourite holiday destinations, such as Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Greece.
