25. 1. 2005 - Czech Airlines wins “Best Airline in Eastern Europe” award
Prague/New York, 25 January 2005
Czech Airlines has won the Global Traveler magazine (the Annual GT-Tested Awards) “Best Airline in Eastern Europe” award. Jaroslav Štěpánek, CSA Executive Director for Marketing and Sales, accepted the award at a ceremony on 24th of January in New York.
The readers of this prestigious nationally-distributed American magazine, with a paid circulation of over sixty thousand, especially appreciated the excellent passenger care aboard CSA airplanes and the attention Czech Airlines pays to what are referred to in the industry as: “ethnic clients”. The readers gave preference to CSA over other East-European airlines such as Poland’s LOT.
“Czech Airlines has been flying to the United States for 35 years, and for the first time it was awarded ‘Best Airline in Eastern Europe’ in the USA this year. It is a great honor for us, but mainly it symbolizes our commitment to the future,“ said Jaroslav Štěpánek.
Over 300 airline professionals participated in the ceremony where winners in the Business & Luxury Travel categories were announced. Singapore Airlines earned top honors in the “Best Airline in the World” category, Asiana Airlines for the “Best On Board Service” and Seoul Incheon International Airport was named “Best Airport in the World”.
“Global Traveler readers – real professional travelers are the best qualified passengers to vote in these categories," said Global Traveler Publisher and CEO Francis X. Gallagher.
The Global Traveler award is not the first one for Czech Airlines. Last year, in May, it won the OAG (Official Airline Guide, London) “Best Airline Based in Central/Eastern Europe” award over 20 other nominated airlines.
