16. 9. 2004 - Enlarged SkyTeam offers more benefits for CSA passengers

Prague, 16 September 2004

Effective Wednesday, 15 September, Czech Airlines passengers can enjoy additional benefits resulting from the membership in the enlarged SkyTeam Alliance. The new carriers add 141 destinations to the SkyTeam’s network, the total number of destinations being 658.

Added customer benefits:

  • Frequent Flyer miles
Effective 15 September 2004, CSA passengers will earn the actual number of flown miles or a minimum of 1000 miles for all international flights and 500 miles for all domestic flights with  Continental, KLM  and Northwest. Flights with these airlines will also be added towards the limits to acquire OK Plus Silver or Gold cards.
  • Bonus tickets
Accrued miles can also be redeemed on flights operated by the new member airlines. Flights on the new member airlines may be freely combined with flights on the original member airlines – our passengers can also enjoy extended network and more flight choices on all nine SkyTeam alliance members. For example, a bonus ticket within Europe in Economy class begins at 20 000 miles, a bonus ticket to North America is for 50 000 miles.
  • Benefits for OK Plus Silver and Gold card holders
OK Plus Silver or Gold card holders can now enjoy all exclusive benefits, such as elite bonus additional miles, priority reservation waitlist, priority check-in and boarding, etc. when travelling with the new member carriers. Gold card holders, upon presenting a boarding card for an international or connecting SkyTeam flight, have complimentary access to Continental Presidents Club®, KLM and Northwest WorldClub® with a guest. OK Plus Gold card holders have access to more than 390 lounges worldwide.

With the arrival of three new members on Monday, September 13  – American Continental Airlines and Northwest Airlines and European KLM, the SkyTeam airline alliance is now the second largest global airline alliance.
The alliance also presented a new design of its www.skyteam.com website. It is now available to passengers from the Czech Republic in the Czech language and offers efficient travel planning services.
